Minister of Transportation Budi Karya Sumadi revealed that he would reorganize the passenger or feeder route to the Palmbang LRT. This was revealed after reviewing mass transportation services in the city of Palembang, South Sumatra.

"We will rerouting LRT feeder transport routes. We are trying to provide feeder services to be present in three places that were previously not served, namely in Plaju, Sekip, and Bumi Sriwijaya. These points are the concentration of many people," Budi said in a statement to the media, Saturday, October 14.

Budi assessed that the feeder route is currently not optimal and will continue to be improved in its services.

"Right now the feeder is relatively too far, so the travel time from one point to another is too long. Therefore, we will make these feeders focus on optimizing LRT services. Later the route can increase, but it can also eliminate routes that are not optimal," he continued.

He added that Palembang is a city that has complete mass public transportation, so he wants his people to use mass public transportation every day and leave private vehicles.

Meanwhile Acting Governor of South Sumatra Agus Fatoni stated that the people of South Sumatra need to be grateful that the central and regional governments pay attention to the development of this transportation so that this will make it easier for the community to carry out activities and also encourage the economy in South Sumatra. He also invited the people of South Sumatra to use public transportation.

"Let us unite our steps to realize better public transportation, which Alhamdulillah supports by the central government, and we must carry out activities by prioritizing the public transportation that has been built," he said.

In addition to reviewing public transportation in Palembang, the Minister of Transportation also attended free health and medical counseling for the community and distributed 400 gifts to the people in the Sungki Kertapati Intersection area, Palembang.
