Here Are The Goods Sold On TikTok Shop, No Wonder The Price Is Cheap

JAKARTA - Goods sold on social commerce platforms such as TikTok Shop are much cheaper and can even be below production prices.

Apparently, these cheap items are 'cold goods' or items that are not sold out from shops at Tanah Abang Market, Jakarta.

This was revealed by a trader at the Tanah Abang Mode Market (PMTA) named Uni.

He said it had been selling this 'cold stuff' long before TikTok Shop was busy.

The Union admits that it is not only him who sells this 'cold stuff', but also other traders in Tanah Abang.

Selling 'cold goods' to online sellers who usually hold live shopping on TikTok Shop is indeed a solution to deplete the remaining stock.

"Yes, the stock is still there. Generally, Tanah Abang people are all like that now, that's why live shopping children are on the rise," he told VOI, in Tanah Abang, Thursday, October 5.

When asked how the live shopping seller on TikTok Shop got the goods, the Union said someone was looking for them directly to shops in Tanah Abang.

"Someone is looking for a jockey, yes, his name," he said.

Although she felt helped to spend the stock of existing goods, Uni admitted that they were also harmed in terms of brands (branding).

He said, the brand he built was damaged because the selling price of live shopping was very far below the market.

For example, said the Union, he owns 400 pieces of 'cold goods' at a wholesale price per cut of IDR 195,000.

This item is taken by live shopping traders at a price of Rp. 95,000 to Rp. 100,000 per piece. Meanwhile, the market price per cut is Rp. 240,000.

"Brand Uni is also mentioned, yes, it's automatic. The Union never sells that much. Only if the brand has been said to be damaged. He knows that our goods are above the price, how come it can get that price. If it's live, it's just live, it doesn't matter," he said.

Meanwhile, during live shopping, Rp. 150,000 was sold. This means that there is a price difference of Rp. 90,000.

"There was a local person (taking goods) he didn't use the uni brand, he immediately cut it. So he showed the model. The Union didn't like it, because uni had also helped him (got the goods)," he continued.
