JAKARTA - The Ministry of Transportation (Kemenhub) has issued a Public Railway Operational Permit for the Jakarta-Bandung High Speed Train (KCJB). With the issuance of this operating permit, the mode of transportation is ready to serve passengers.

This operation permit was issued through the Decree of the Minister of Transportation Number KM 114 of 2023 concerning the General Railway Facilities Operation Permit of PT Kereta Api Cepat Indonesia-China.

Minister of Transportation Budi Karya Sumadi said that with the issuance of this operating permit, KCJB had met the aspect of the feasibility of high-speed train operations.

"Alhamdulillah, all testing and certification components have been implemented so that this operating permit can be issued and KCJB commercial operations can be carried out immediately," said Budi, Sunday, October 1.

Furthermore, Budi explained that the KCJB operation would be carried out in stages to continue to be evaluated up to the ultimat scenario of up to 68 trips per day.

In order to make it easier for passengers to reach Bandung City, continued Budi, a Feeder Train has also been prepared from Padalarang Station to Bandung Station.

"This gradual operation is carried out to provide space for operators to adjust and maximize services," said Budi.

In addition, Budi said that promo tariffs would be applied at the beginning of the KCJB operation to attract public interest.

Budi hopes that after the issuance of this operating permit, the KCIC as the operator can prepare commercial operations that will soon be inaugurated by the President.

"Hopefully the KCJB can be used by the general public and have a positive impact on the nation's economic growth," concluded Budi.
