Kemenkop UKM Collaborates With Garuda Indonesia To Launch UKMBOX MSME Logistics Solution

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Cooperatives and SMEs (Kemenkop UKM) collaborated with PT Garuda Indonesia (Persero) Tbk to launch UKMBOX as a service for sending SME products and cooperatives abroad that are guaranteed to be safe, cheap, and on target.

"UKMBOX can be a solution for MSMEs who want to export at a volume that is not too large and at competitive costs," said Deputy for Small and Medium Enterprises at the Coordinating Ministry for SMEs Hanung Harimba in a written statement received by VOI, Friday, September 22.

Hanung said, with the launch of SME BOX, it is hoped that the constraints for MSMEs in exporting at small volumes will no longer be burdened with less economical or too expensive logistics costs.

"This SMEBOX is open to all SME players who meet the requirements and conditions in the destination country, registration can be done on their website," he said.

According to him, currently Indonesia has 64 million potential SMEs that can take advantage of SMEBOX services, and are supported by 8 million diaspora spread throughout the world as consumers as well as the spearhead of marketing local products.

"This potential can support the Proud National Movement Made in Indonesia (Gernas BBI) abroad to always innovate and provide added value to regional superior products," said Hanung.

Currently, SMEBOX itself has an air fleet to 15 destination countries, making it easier for MSMEs to ship goods on time abroad with various facilities.

The 15 delivery services include Express Boxes for Delivery of Door to Door Air Cargoes worldwide, Cargo Boxes for Port to Port Air Cargo to Garuda Indonesia destination countries, Warehouses in the Netherlands, Retail Stores in Madrid Spain, Made Indonesia Fulfillment Center in Australia, Archipelago Store in Canada, as well as Promotion and Marketplace in Europe to facilitate SMEs, cooperatives and buyers making transactions.

In addition, sending abroad for large volumes can take advantage of the SendAja service from PT Aerojasa Cargo which is one of the subsidiaries of the Garuda Indonesia aviation BUMN. The program provides various products and services, both for domestic and international shipments.
