DPR With The People, 2024 Subsidy Budget Increased To IDR 189.1 Trillion

JAKARTA The DPR RI Budget Agency (Banggar) has approved to increase the energy subsidy budget next year to Rp189.1 trillion. This was conveyed by a member of the DPR from the Working Group Faction (Golkar) Nurul Arifin during a working meeting with the Minister of Finance (Menkeu) Sri Mulyani in the discussion of the 2024 State Budget Bill.

"The energy subsidy allocation in 2024 was agreed at IDR 189.1 trillion, higher than the proposed 2024 RAPBN (proposed by the government)," he said at the Senayan Parliament Complex, Jakarta, Tuesday, September 19.

Nurul explained that the allocation of energy subsidies consisted of certain fuel subsidies and 3 kg LPG cylinders amounting to Rp113.2 trillion.

"This includes electricity subsidies which amount to Rp75.8 trillion," he said.

On the same occasion, Minister of Finance Sri Mulyani revealed that the latest oil price had risen again to a level above 95 US dollars per barrel.

In fact, in the discussion of the RAPBN in early September, the assumption that Indonesia's Crude Price (ICP) had been raised from US$80 to US$82 per barrel.

The Geopolitical and supply chain disruptions have affected commodity prices. What we can best see is that oil prices have moved above 95 dollars per barrel, when we just raised the assumption from 80 dollars to 82 dollars per barrel," said the Minister of Finance.

For information, the allocation of the subsidy budget is included in the non-ministerial/institutional expenditure post (non-K/L). Meanwhile, the draft semi-term for non-K/L expenditure in the 2024 State Budget Bill amounts to Rp1,376.7 trillion, including the increase in the pension salary of ASN next year by 12 percent.
