The Ministry Of PUPR Encourages Absorption Of Quality Construction Workers Through This Training

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) through the Directorate General of Construction continues to strive to improve the quality and competence of human resources (HR) in order to meet the demands of quality and reliable infrastructure development in Indonesia.

To meet the needs of quality construction workers in accordance with the direction of Minister Basuki, the Directorate General of Construction continues to carry out various trainings and certifications for construction workers and continues to encourage the absorption of construction workers.

One of the trainings that has been carried out by the Directorate General of Construction Development is the Launching Operator Training Girder.

The training was carried out to meet the quality labor needs in the field of flyover construction, and was also motivated by the many construction accidents in the 2018 range, especially in the flyover construction sector that uses a girder.

"Hopefully, operators or prospective operators can better understand how to function and operate construction tools related to launching girders," said Director General of Construction Development Rachman Arief Dienaputra in his official statement, quoted Friday, September 15.

Rachman Arief added, from various trainings and construction workforce certifications that have been carried out by the Ministry of PUPR, the most important goal to be achieved is the result.

These various trainings are expected to provide benefits and be implemented in the world of construction.

"From the various trainings that have been carried out, it is hoped that the participants can enter the world of construction work with better quality and competence. Then, they can also be an example as construction workers who understand construction safety," he said.

Meanwhile, Head of the DKI Jakarta Construction Services Center Region III Samuel EDP Tampubolon said the training of the Launching Operator Girder at the Directorate General of Construction has been started since 2022.

In its implementation, as many as three batches were accommodated by the DKI Jakarta Regional III Construction Services Center and one batch through the Surabaya Region IV Construction Services Center.

Then, in the 2023 fiscal year (TA), the DKI Jakarta Regional III Construction Services Center will again carry out two batches of Launching Operators, with a total of 46 participants from all over Indonesia.

"In the future, we will prepare better for this training. Starting from the maintenance side of training facilities, management of the use of training equipment, to preparing human resources such as operators and experts for the needs of flyover construction work," he said.

Meanwhile, based on a study by the Ministry of PUPR, every increase in the infrastructure budget is IDR 1 trillion, so it takes as many as 14,000 construction workers to acquire the budget.

As an illustration, the PUPR Ministry's contractual budget ceiling in 2023 is IDR 89.11 trillion, so it requires 1,024,223 skilled construction workers to be certified.
