JAKARTA - The government officially launched a trial system for licensing events in Indonesia today, Monday, September 11. The launch of the trial was carried out at the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy (Kemenparekraf) Building, Jakarta.
"It will not be postponed again, today, September 11, we are launching a digital licensing system for events, in order to get feedback from promoters," said Tourism and Creative Economy Minister Sandiaga Uno at a press conference in Jakarta, on Monday, September 11.
Menparekraf Sandiaga said this was an effort by the government to improve the local economy, and as a means for providing jobs.
"There are around 3,000 more events whose class is medium and large that can create economic value of around Rp. 162 trillion. This is part of our efforts and solutions to improve the economy," he said.
Sandiaga added that digital transformation efforts in various sectors are also in accordance with the direction of President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) in every limited meeting (Ratas).
"At that time, the president emphasized that events should be a catalyst for accelerating economic recovery, so that policies that are right on target, benefit, and on time must also have a positive impact on the local economy and the provision of employment," he added.
On the same occasion, Minister of State Apparatus Empowerment and Bureaucratic Reform (Menpan RB) Azwar Anas said, with the launch of a trial of the licensing application, it is hoped that there will be equitable economic growth in every region of Indonesia.
"Well, hopefully all of this will be a suggestion for government services that are able to provide quality services and increase economic potential, both for local governments and nationally," he said.
