The Ministry Of PUPR Starts Building JPO To JIS, Targets To Be Completed Before The U17 World Cup

JAKARTA - The Directorate General of Highways is carrying out the construction of the People's Crossing Bridge (JPO) from the parking lot in Ancol, North Jakarta to the Jakarta International Stadium (JIS). This is a form of preparation for JIS as the main arena for the U-17 World Cup.

"The construction of the JPO that connects the Ancol parking area with JIS is being carried out, where we are installing the stakes," said Director General of Highways Hedy Rahadian quoting Antara.

According to Hedy, the Ministry of PUPR is targeting the construction of JPO from Ancol to JIS to be completed before the U-17 World Cup event.

"We are targeting the construction of the JPO for JIS to be completed before the implementation of the U-17 World Cup event in November 2023," he said.

For information, the construction of the JPO is an increase in external access to the Jakarta International Stadium (JIS) as the main arena for the U-17 World Cup.

The JPO was built with a length of 430 meters with a width of 5 meters. Then for other external access, there will be the construction of an access road to JIS.

FIFA has agreed that the 2023 U-17 World Cup in Indonesia will be held in four stadiums.

The world tournament, which will take place from November 10 to December 2, will be held at the Jakarta International Stadium (Jakarta), Si Jalak Harupat Stadium (Bandung), Manahan Stadium (Solo), and Gelora Bung Tomo Stadium (Surabaya).

The All-Indonesian Football Association (PSSI) proposes that the Indonesian national team compete in Jakarta. In addition, the opening was also held in Jakarta, while the semifinal and final matches were held in Solo.

For Indonesia, hosting the U-17 World Cup is an honor because it has the trust to hold a world football championship for generations of future footballers.
