Lending Better, Sri Mulyani Cs Saves Ministry Of Finance's Budget Of IDR 1.56 Trillion

The Ministry of Finance (Kemenkeu) stated that the adaptation of a new work pattern and implementation of a better spending policy has resulted in budget efficiency of IDR 1.56 trillion from 2020 to 2022. This was explained by Minister of Finance Sri Mulyani in a Working Meeting with Commission XI of the DPR RI today.

"Through the various efficiency and calculation measures that we control, spending at the Ministry of Finance will be better," he said in a written statement on Tuesday, August 30.

The Minister of Finance explained that a number of aspects of the application of new work patterns and effective spending policies played a role in reducing the budget burden of the state budget.

"Our bureaucratic spending can save IDR 501 billion. Consolidation from the procurement of laptops and the implementation of the TKDN policy, the level of domestic components, causes us to save IDR 140 billion," he said.

The state treasurer added that digitizing the business process resulted in savings of up to Rp90.5 billion. Various team formations were rationalized so that the Ministry of Finance could save 13.6 billion rupiah.

In addition, he said that the payment of centrally administered personnel expenditures caused efficiency and certainty as well as savings in personnel expenditure management amounting to Rp4.8 billion rupiah.

"Collaborative tools are how we create software applications to be able to work together to save various meeting meetings so that the cost of consumption fell, so we were able to save IDR 290 billion. In the past, meetings always meant there were rooms using air conditioning and then there was consumption. now we can hold meetings very efficiently but still have high participation", he said.

The Minister of Finance also said that if the optimization of the pandemic handling budget also contributed to saving a budget of IDR 95.30 billion even though the Ministry of Finance continued to carry out booster vaccinations last year. As for the personnel expenditure side, the negative growth policy plays a role in budget savings of up to almost half a trillion or to be precise IDR 429.45 billion.

"For personnel spending with negative growth and also with digitalization, we are able to manage human resources at a relatively very efficient or more efficient cost, but not reducing employee satisfaction," concluded Finance Minister Sri Mulyani.
