Jabodebek LRT Officially Operates, Minister Of Transportation: It's A Historical Day

JAKARTA - Minister of Transportation (Menhub) Budi Karya Sumadi said that the operation of the Jabodebek LRT for the community indicates that transportation in Indonesia is progressing. He said, the presence of the LRT is a big achievement for Indonesia.

As is known, President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) this morning tested the Jabodebek LRT together with the Ministers of the Advanced Indonesia Cabinet. After that, Jokowi immediately inaugurated the Jabodebek LRT at Cawang Station.

Today is a historic day because the mode of light rapid transit or integrated highway transportation (LRT Jabodebek) can finally be inaugurated. Alhamdulillah, this is a great achievement of development in the increasingly advanced transportation sector," he said at Cawang Station, Jakarta, Monday, August 28.

Budi said, the Jabodebek LRT is also one of Indonesia's images or efforts to achieve environmentally friendly modes of transportation. Even so, he stressed that the government still prioritizes security in the operation of this transportation service.

For your information, this Jabodebek LRT service has also been integrated with other modes of transportation such as KRL, Transjakarta Bus and Jakarta MRT.

Furthermore, Budi said that later the Jabodebek LRT would also be integrated with the Jakarta-Bandung High Speed Train (KCJB).

"Until later this integration can also reach Bandung," he said.

Budi hopes that the concept of transportation development in Jakarta and its surroundings can be an example and applied in all other cities in Indonesia. So that community mobilization runs easily.

"We hope that this concept will become a pattern for the development of cities throughout Indonesia," he said.
