Deputy Minister Of Trade Jerry Regarding Cooking Oil Ratifications Never Paid: We Will Sit Together

The Ministry of Trade (Kemendag) has confirmed that it will coordinate with a number of related parties to discuss the payment of price difference or cooking oil ratio with the Indonesian Retail Entrepreneurs Association (Aprindo) which has not been resolved to date.

Deputy Minister of Trade (Wamendag) Jerry Sambuaga said that his party as a regulator wants to ensure steps that comply with regulations, as well as guarantee protection to the public and consumers in terms of consumption and buying.

"That, right, is the aspiration of Aprindo. Well, of course we want to make sure that the input and aspirations of each stakeholder are together, we will sit down to solve solutions together," Jerry told reporters after being met at the High Level Ministerial Meeting: Dialogue at the ASEAN Inclusive Business Summit 2023 forum in the Nusa Dua area, Bali, Wednesday, August 23.

Jerry said that the interests of the community related to cooking oil (migr) are priority matters, so the Ministry of Trade must ensure that there are no steps that are not in accordance with the law.

"Friends have seen that there is a fatwa from the Attorney General's Office to see, ascertain how to follow up actions against the factions mentioned by Aprindo," he said.

Even so, Jerry could not confirm when the deadline for resolving the problem would be.

"We make sure the main thing will be to sit down with all stakeholders, BPDPKS, especially from the Director General of Domestic Trade of the Ministry of Trade," he concluded.

As previously reported, Aprindo on Friday, August 18, is reported to have conveyed five steps that will be taken by retailers so that the government will immediately complete its obligation to pay the cooking oil ratio.

One of these steps is to reduce the purchase of cooking oil from distributors if the faction is not paid.

A number of retail companies are also said to stop buying cooking oil from distributors if there is no certainty regarding the problem of the faction.
