Director General Of Oil And Gas Urges The Public To Immediately Register For 3 Kg Elpiji Subsidy

JAKARTA - Director General of Oil and Gas (Dirjen Migas) Tutuka Ariadji appealed to the public to immediately register themselves for a subsidized 3 Kg LPG LPG subsidy.

The reason is, starting from 1 Jauari 2024, the purchase of 3 kg LPG is only served if the Identity Card (KTP) is increased.

"This policy aims so that the subsidies provided by the Government can be fully enjoyed by groups of people who are unable or more on target," said Tutuka, Thursday, August 24.

Tutuka also ensured that during this registration process there were no restrictions in purchasing 3 kg LPG cylinders. Buyers at Pangkalan only need to bring their ID cards and/or family cards, and if they are registered in the system, it is only enough to bring their ID cards for the next purchase.

"Especially for Micro Business users, additional self-photos are needed in business premises," added Tutuka.

Tutuka also hopes for support from the community in the implementation of the 3 Kg LPG distribution transformation that is right on target.

"This transformation process is certainly not easy because there are definitely many obstacles and challenges in the field. But it is also not something that is impossible to do through our joint commitment. For this reason, support from Agents and Bases, as well as the community is generally a key factor in the success of this data collection or registration," he explained.

Tutuka further said, as part of efforts to realize the 3 Kg cylinder LPG subsidy on target, the Government together with the Police and Pertamina continue to increase supervision and impose sanctions on Agents, Bases or individuals who commit violations such as the splicing of 3 Kg Cylinder LPG to non-subsidized LPG. In addition to harming the state and the people who are entitled, the mixing is also dangerous for public safety.

For information, the realization of the 3 Kg LPG volume each year continues to increase by an average of 4.5 percent. On the other hand, the realization of non-subsidized LPG volume decreased by 10.9 percent on average.

In 2019, the realization of the 3 Kg cylinder LPG volume was 6.84 million metric tons, then it rose to 7.14 million metric tons in 2020 and 7.46 million metric tons in 2021 to reach 7.80 million metric tons in 2022.

In the same period, the realization of non-subsidized LPG volume decreased from 0.66 million metric tons in 2019 to only 0.46 million metric tons in 2022.

Other forms of misuse of 3 Kg Tube LPG are hoarding, sales exceeding the Highest Retail Price (HET) set by the Regional Government, selling/transporting to areas that are not distribution areas (district/City crossings or areas that have not been converted by kerosene to 3 Kg LPG LPG), and 3 Kg LPG transportation activities using vehicles that are not registered with the Agent.

"Therefore, it is necessary to improve the 3 Kg LPG distribution mechanism which is currently valid," said Tutuka.

According to him, manual recording of transactions in the logbook of the base is prone to manipulation so that it is unable to show the actual profile of the 3 Kg LPG LPG user. The ongoing process of data collection and matching of user data is expected to answer these challenges. In addition, a location mapping and the number of channeling subs and the presence of 3 Kg LPG LPG retailers will be carried out.

The government will also conduct a direct survey to ensure that underprivileged people are able to get 3 Kg of IVF LPG.

"The Regional Government is expected to participate in controlling the availability of 3 Kg LPG in adequate quantities, good quality, and affordable prices, as mandated by Article 3 paragraph (1) of Presidential Regulation Number 71 of 2015 concerning the Determination and Storage of Basic Necessities and Important Goods," concluded Tutuka.
