For this reason, the Ministry of Industry held an Indonesia 4.0 Conference & Expo activity event at JIExpo Kemayoran, Central Jakarta, on Wednesday, August 23.

"The Startup for Industry program is a strategy of the Ministry of Industry to prepare Indonesian tech startups as a provider of technology for industry and society," said Director General of Small, Medium and Multifarious Industries at the Ministry of Industry Reni Yanita to reporters, Wednesday, August 23.

Reni added that they will be challenged to compete to solve the problem of mass production manufacturing access, access to financing, databases for industrial problems, access to competitions for technology implementation, to global market access.

The Ministry of Industry has opened registration for the Startup for Industry program in 2023 from March 14 - May 31, 2023.

There are 1,115 startups that have taken part in and through the administrative selection process, videos, pitching matching.

From this process, 111 finalists were selected as well as 100 business relationships between startups and industry. Furthermore, only 20 selected finalists will carry out the implementation project for three months in 20 partners from the small and medium industry sector.

After the finalists are selected, said Reni, technology startups will implement several technological solutions.

In the future, Reni continued, Startup4industry has a vision of producing successful stories about the implementation of technological transformation in real terms.

Meanwhile, Director of IKM Metal, Machinery, Electronics and Transportation Equipment, Dini Hanggandari added, Indonesia 4.0 Conference & Expo is a means for the Ministry of Industry to help encourage the development of the startup world which is able to provide benefits for industry players.

"We participated in the Indonesia 4.0 Conference & Expo exhibition event to be able to promote the S4I program by cooperating with the Indonesian Start Up For Industry (Starfindo) Association," he said.
