JAKARTA - The Ministry of Transportation (Kemenhub) proposed a discount on tariffs in the early days of the Jabodebek LRT operation. The proposed discount is IDR 5,000 until next September.
The mass transportation is planned to be inaugurated by President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) and operate commercially on August 30.
Director General of Railways of the Ministry of Transportation Risal Wasal said that in the first stage, the tariff discount proposed for all service routes was IDR 5,000. With this discount, the Public Service Obligation (PSO) provided by the government reached 78 percent.
Furthermore, Risal said that the 78 percent tariff discount is in commemoration of the 78th anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia.
