Produce Oil Up To 172,000 BOPD, PHR Becomes Number 1 Oil Producer In Indonesia

JAKARTA - Pertamina Hulu Rokan managed to record the highest oil production in Indonesia with an achievement of 172,000 barrels of oil per day (BOPD).

President Director of PT Pertamina Hulu Rokan, Chalid Said Salim said that since the transfer of management of the Rokan block from Chevron two years ago, PHR has managed to drill 800 wells with 80s of rigs.

"PHR has also succeeded in shortening drilling to just 5 days. A total of 30-40 new wells per month. PHR production is the highest number 1 in Indonesia," said Chalid in Energy Corner, Tuesday, August 15.

Since the transfer of management, PHR has drilled 825 wells and 84 rigs in Rokan WK.

To note, the positive trend of increasing PHR production has been seen since the end of July 2023, where the highest number in a row was 167,645 BOPD on July 31, 2023, then 168,730 BOPD on August 1, 2023, continuing 167,034 BOPD on August 2, 2023 and 169,282 BOPD on August 7, 2023.

Chalid added that currently his party is working on the production of Non Conventional Oil (MNK) in Gulamo and Kelok wells in Rokan Hilir (Rohil) Regency. The drilling of the MNK well is one of the largest drillings carried out by PHR, because it has to penetrate to a depth of 8,500 feet with a rig capacity of 1,500 horsepower (HP).

Chalid added, to maintain poisis as the number 1 oil producer in Indonesia, his party will continue to carry out other activities to continue to increase oil production.

"Want to further increase Indonesia's oil production. Efforts are made to maintain the baseline, work over activities, drilling development and of course there are other activities that are more advanced, such as EOR," concluded Chalid.
