Sri Mulyani Proud Of The Economy Growing 5.17 Percent: Cool!

Minister of Finance (Menkeu) Sri Mulyani responded to the latest news submitted by the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) regarding economic growth of 5.17 percent year on year (yoy) in the first quarter of 2023. According to him, the book extends the record of seven consecutive quarters above the level of 5 percent.

"Keren abih! Ini sebuah pencapaian yang sangat baik, pada saat banyak negara lain justru mengalami pelembangan ekonomi. Lihat produksi ekonomi IMF untuk negara maju G7 yang sangat rendah," ujarnya melalui @smindrawati, Selasa, 8 Agustus.

The Minister of Finance explained that the growth rate in the second quarter of this year was contributed by RT consumption which grew high by 5.23 percent. It was stated that the government's success in reducing inflation was to maintain people's purchasing power and consumer confidence.

"Additional social assistance helps those who can't afford it. Eid al-Fitr, THR activities, 13th salary also encourage strong. Investment strengthens (4.63 percent) supported by structural policies and government incentives to encourage investment," he said.

Then, state spending on the state budget which jumped high by 10.62 percent contributed to economic activity. Even so, exports grew negatively 2.75 percent, describing the weakening of the global economy, and imports minus 3.08 percent were affected by the number of working days.

Then, the Minister of Finance explained that spatial growth with Java grew 5.18 percent. Followed by Sumatra 4.90 percent, Kalimantan 5.56 percent, Sulawesi 6.64 percent, Bali and Nusa Tenggara 3.01 percent, and Papua-Maluku 6.35 percent.

"Various infrastructure developments encourage equal distribution of development throughout the country," he said.

The state treasurer said that all parties must participate in maintaining the momentum of Indonesia's economic recovery and growth. He said the government remains focused on creating jobs, reducing unemployment, eradicating poverty, stunting, reducing inequality and creating equitable welfare.

"The state budget is healthy to work hard to protect the people, and support the economy that grows quality, evenly and sustainably. Indonesia must continue to advance," he concluded.
