High-speed Train Trial So September, Paid Operational Schedule Joins Resignation?

JAKARTA - The government has decided that the schedule for the trial of the Jakarta-Bandung High Speed Train (KCJB) is limited to free for the general public from August to September 2023.

Then, will the paid operational schedule be postponed?

General Manager of Corporate Secretary of the Indonesia-China High Speed Train (KCIC) Eva Chairunisa explained that until now the paid operational schedule is still the same, namely October 2023.

"It's still according to the program, we will inform you if there is a change," he said when contacted by VOI, Tuesday, August 8.

Furthermore, Eva hopes that the commercial operational schedule or commercial operating date (COD) will not be delayed along with the postponement of the free limited trial schedule.

"Hopefully it doesn't (follow back)," he explained.

For your information, the Jakarta Bandung High Speed Train (KCJB) is planned to operate commercially in October 2023. Initially, starting August 18, there would be a limited trial or soft launching. However, the trial schedule was postponed to September.

"According to government directives, the plan for pre-operational trials will take place starting in early September 2023. At that time, people can try the Jakarta-Bandung high-speed train without being charged," he said.

Furthermore, Eva explained that the delay in the limited free trial schedule was to ensure that the trial program during the pre-operation period of the Jakarta-Bandung high-speed train could run well.

As the first mode of high-speed rail transportation in Indonesia and Southeast Asia, Eva continued, the operation of the Jakarta-Bandung high-speed train requires very careful preparation.

"Currently, PT KCIC continues to make preparations on various sides," he said.
