JAKARTA - The Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) through the Directorate General (Ditjen) of Housing revealed that adjustments to the selling price limit for subsidized landed houses in 2023-2024 for low-income people (MBR) need to be followed with better quality.

"Based on the direction of the Director General of Housing Iwan Suprijanto, if the support from the Directorate General of Housing we prepare regulations to maintain quality. That's what we need. Because after the implementation of the subsidized house price adjustment, it needs to be accompanied by better housing quality," said the Director of Public Houses and Commercial Directorate General of PUPR Housing Fitrah Nur representing the Director General (Dirjen) of Housing Iwan Suprijanto in Jakarta, quoted from Antara, Friday, August 4.

He said that according to the direction of the Director General of Housing, Iwan Suprijanto, the quality of subsidized houses was the main concern because the house was intended for MBR.

"This is our concern, especially for MBR," said Fitrah Nur.

The Directorate General of Housing also sees that adjustments to subsidized housing prices in terms of developers need to be made because the price of house construction materials is currently experiencing a much larger increase. Thus, like it or not, price adjustments must be made.

"Based on the direction of the Director General of Housing itself, we provide incentives to developers who build subsidized houses for MBR through infrastructure, facilities and utilities (PSU), it is a commitment from the Directorate General of Housing," said Fitrah Nur.

The Ministry of PUPR has set a limit on the selling price of subsidized houses for landed houses in 2023-2024.
