Regarding Elpiji Scarcity, Pertamina Boss Ensures Safe Stock

JAKARTA - President Director of PT Pertamina (Persero) Nicke Widyawati ensures that LPG stocks are safe despite scarcity in several parts of Indonesia.

Nicke said that as of today, 3 kg LPG consumption during July has exceeded the quota provided by the government for this year.

"In general, if we look at it as of today, it has already exceeded the quota. However, we ensure that the availability of 3 kg LPG is safe," Nicke told the media quoted Wednesday, July 26.

Meanwhile, Nicke said that the sale of subsidized LPG to date is still very high. Based on Pertamina's data, the household quota that has the right to enjoy 3 kg of LPG is 60 million households out of a total of 88 million households in Indonesia.

"Today, if we look at the data on what percentage of total subsidized LPG sales are high. 96 percent. So we have to see if there is something that is not right in distribution," said Nicke.

Meanwhile, through his written statement, Pertamina Patra Niaga's Corporate Secretary, Irto Ginting, said that the distribution of 3 kg LPG is still running normally.

Pertamina also continues to monitor the distribution of LPG continues to be carried out in more than 50 thousand official bases spread throughout Indonesia.

"Based on monitoring in the field, currently the stock and distribution of subsidized LPG are in a safe condition. So that people don't need to worry," said Irto in his statement.

In addition, Pertamina Patra Niaga also cooperated with the local government to ensure that supply availability and distribution of subsidized 3 kg LPG were right on target.

"Some of our efforts have been made, including conducting market operations in several areas in Java and preparing additional supplies in the Kalimantan and North Sumatra regions," said Irto.

Pertamina Patra Niaga also appealed to the public to use LPG according to its designation. The 3 kg LPG is a subsidy product specifically for underprivileged communities.

Based on Circular Letter of the Director General of Oil and Gas Number B-246/MG.05/DJM/2022, restaurant business groups, livestock, hotels, agriculture (in addition to the provisions of Presidential Regulation 38/2019 which have not been converted), tobacco farming, welding services, batik, and firelancing are not allowed to use 3 kilograms of subsidized LPG.

"Pertamina also provides 5.5 kg and 12 kg non-subsidized LPG products, which are available on minimarket outlets, Bright Stores, as well as delivery services between Pertamina Delivery Service by contacting 135," he explained.
