Welcoming The Return Of Hajj Pilgrims, The Ministry Of Transportation Monitors Optimization Of Kertajati Airport Services

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Transportation through the Directorate General of Civil Aviation continues to supervise the return services of pilgrims at Kertajati Airport, Majelengka, West Java.

A total of 374 pilgrims from the second batch of pilgrims from Indramayu Regency returned to their homeland through the debarkation of Kertajati Airport on Monday, June 10 yesterday.

Direktur Jenderal Perhubungan Udara M. Kristi Endah Murni mengatakan jajarannya terus melakukan pengawasan melalui para inspektur untuk memastikan keselamatan, keamanan, serta pelayanan penerbangan kepada para jemaah haji agar berjalan optimal.

Kristi said the pilgrims who departed from Medina using the Saudi Airlines arrived at 18.50 WIB, and went directly through the immigration process and were transported by bus to Indramayu.

Kristi said that previously the determination of the Hajj embarration and debarkation at Kertajati Airport, pilgrims from Cirebon, Indramayu, Majalengka and Kuningan or commonly called Ciayumajakuning had to travel by land for about 3-4 hours to Soekarno Hatta Airport as an embarkation and debarkation airport.

"Now, pilgrims from the Ciayumajakuning area do not need to go all the way to Soekarno-Hatta Airport, because Kertajati Airport has been present to serve pilgrims. Hajj, Umrah and regular flights," explained Kristi.

Kristi hopes that the existing flight operations at Kertajati Airport will continue to increase, and can be a stimulus so that other airlines can open new flight routes both domestically and internationally.

"Especially with the completion of the Cisumdawu Toll Road which will be inaugurated in the near future, it will greatly help accelerate economic growth and road access to Kertajati Airport," he said.
