JAKARTA - Minister of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) Basuki Hadimuljono released the return of Japanese Emperor Naruhito and Queen Masako at Soekarno Hatta Airport (Soetta), Banten, Friday, June 23.
The Japanese Emperor Naruhito's entourage took off from Soetta Airport at around 11.00 WIB to Tokyo, Japan.
Emperor Naruhito and Queen Masako were in Indonesia on June 17-23, 2023.
Apart from going to Jakarta, Emperor Naruhito and Queen Masako also visited Bogor, Bekasi, and Yogyakarta.
Minister Basuki expressed his gratitude to the Emperor for his visit to Indonesia and hoped that Emperor Naruhito could return to the country during the 10th World Water Forum in 2024 in Bali.
During his visit to Yogyakarta on Wednesday, June 21, 2023, Minister Basuki accompanied the visit of His Majesty Emperor Naruhito to the Sabo Engineering Center.
Basuki revealed that the visit to the Sabo Engineering Center was because Emperor Naruhito had an interest in managing water resources, so he wanted to see the development of the sabo technology originating from Japan in Indonesia.
"He also hopes that this collaboration can continue, because with the implementation of sabo technology in Indonesia, Japan also gets feedback to improve and improve its technology," he said in a written statement, Friday, June 23.
