PT Perikanan Indonesia Products Have Pocketed Halal Certificates

JAKARTA - PT Perikanan Indonesia has officially obtained a halal certificate for its fishery products issued by the Halal Product Guarantee Administration (BPJPH) which has been Halal fat by the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI).

PT Perikanan Indonesia is included in the category A or Very Good or Excellent based on document examination and audit of the implementation of the halal guarantee system from the Halal Product Guarantee Administration Agency (BPJPH) of the Ministry of Religion of the Republic of Indonesia.

President Director of PT Perikanan Indonesia Sigit Muhartono admitted that he was very grateful and welcomed for the issuance of the halal certificate on the company's fishery product.

Furthermore, Sigit said that although fishery products are mostly halal for consumption, the issuance of halal certificates will increase public confidence in the fishery commodity of PT Perikanan Indonesia.

"Halal certificates are now feasible and legitimate to be included in labels/logo/brand/catalog so that they can guarantee consumers that the company's products are halal and have the best quality," he said in an official statement, Monday, June 12.

Sigit said this halal certificate was addressed to 99 registered PT Perikanan Indonesia products. Fishery products that get halal certificates include the Tukato Seafood brand.

Then, whole frozen fish, fillet fish, steak cut fish, loin fish, shrimp fish, crabs, lobes, vacua fish products and presto fish products of PT Perikanan Indonesia, "he said.

Sigit hopes that the issuance of halal certificates will be able to expand the share of the export market, especially to the United Arab Emirates and other Middle Eastern countries. This is because the export map of PT Perikanan Indonesia is still dominated by countries in Southeast Asia, East Asia and the United States.

"We hope that the BUMN products of PT Perikanan Indonesia will be able to reach countries in the UAE and the Middle East so that they can be enjoyed by pilgrims or Umrah, both pilgrims from Indonesia and other countries," he said.

For your information, the 99 types of products that get halal certificates are the majority of the people's daily consumption fish.

Halal certificates pocketed by PT Perikanan Indonesia in the category of Ready to Cook products are Pelagis Fish (Kembung Frozen, Tuna Frozen, Tuna Loin, Tuna Chouk, Layang Frozen, Deho) and Fish Demersal (Fillet Kakap, Fillet Kerapu, Kuwe, Pisang Pisang Pisang, Lemadang, Layur).

In addition, there are also types of Cephalopoda (Gurita Cutting, Octopus Flower, Cumi Ring, Cumi Tube) and the type of Crustaceae (Udang Kupas, Shrimp block).

Sigit hopes that halal certification will be able to boost the company's performance through the processing and trading business lines. In 2022, this line of business will contribute 61 percent of the company's total revenue.

As for this year, processing and trading of fish are targeted to contribute 64 percent, then the port business line is 29 percent and the fish feed factory is 7 percent.
