JAKARTA - Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy (Menparekraf) Sandiaga Uno said his party was still negotiating with Coldplay management regarding the holding of concerts to be extended to two days in Indonesia.

The minister, who is often called Sandi, said that his party would announce this in the future.

"We get a lot of requests to increase the number of concerts to two days, we are working on it. Hopefully in the next few weeks we can get the answer," Sandi said when met in the Kuningan area, South Jakarta.

Sandi said Coldplay concerts were part of 3,000 events throughout 2023 held in the country, with the hope that the economic turnover would reach more than Rp. 100 trillion.

"There is no definite calculation of Coldplay's economic turnaround, but of the total 3,000 events we curated, the economic turnover target is above Rp162 trillion," he said.

With the high public interest in the concert, Sandiaga said, there will be a positive impact on the growth of the MICE industry and the occupancy value of hotels in DKI Jakarta.

"The growth of the MICE industry is very high, the occupancy rate (hotel) around the concert (location) is in the high GBK area. I hope the MICE industry can grow up to 20 percent," he concluded.

The Coldplay concert "Music of The Spheres World Tour 2023" in Jakarta will take place at the Gelora Bung Karno Stadium, on November 15, 2023.

Concert tickets are sold starting from Rp800,000 for the cheapest category to the Ultimate Exprience category of Rp11,000,000. This price does not include a 15 percent tax, 5 percent service fees and other costs.

Coldplay's November 15, 2023, will be the band's first appearance from Great Britain in Jakarta.
