Spreading Japek Toll Tariff Discounts For Lebaran Homecoming, Jasa Marga's Revenue Potentially Down?

JAKARTA - PT Jasa Marga (Persero) Tbk revealed that the provision of the furthest tariff discount for the Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Road by 20 percent will not have an impact on the company's revenue decline.

Jasa Marga President Director Subakti Syukur said that during the Leberan homecoming season there was an increase in traffic volume in Jabodetabek by 6.77 percent compared to last year. Therefore, he is optimistic that the company will not experience a decrease in revenue.

"No (down). So that's actually the volume we have predicted that the Jakarta exit will be around 2.78 million and will enter around 2.6 million for 16 days on h-7 and h+7. So this only distributes so that it doesn't pile up on crowded days," he said at a BUMN coffee event, Thursday, April 6.

With the increase in traffic traffic, said Subakti, it will not affect income. Even so, he stressed that his party is more focused on improving services to deal with Eid moments, calculating income.

"We don't count this income. We calculate the traffic we will serve. We haven't calculated the (income). The traffic we will serve has increased, it's normal for homecoming to be around 154 percent. The return is around 237 percent," he explained.

Previously reported, PT Jasa Marga (Persero) Tbk will impose a discount of 20 percent for the furthest tariff for the Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Road. This tariff discount aims to maximize traffic distribution during the 2023 Eid homecoming flow.

Jasa Marga President Director Subakti Syukur explained that the 20 percent toll rate discount only applies to two toll gates, namely the Cikampek Utama Toll Gate (GT) of the Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Road which is heading or from the direction of Trans Java and GT Kalihurip Utama Cipularang Toll Road to or from the direction of Bandung.

Furthermore, Subakti said that this tariff discount is to avoid the accumulation of vehicles on a certain date, especially the dates that have been predicted to be the peak of homecoming and the backflow of Eid al-Fitr.

"Based on this, discounts are not given at the predicted time to be the peak of homecoming flow and back so that traffic can be distributed properly," said Subakti.
