Khofifah Asks East Java Banks To Actively Provide Financial Management Assistance To Traders

East Java Governor Khofifah Indar Parawansa asked for the active role of Bank Jatim to provide financial management assistance for traders who will later occupy the Batu City Main Market.

Khofifah, in Batu City, East Java, Saturday, March 25, said that the presence of Bank Jatim in the market banking management system aims to prevent existing traders from being entangled by moneylenders.

"I ask that Bank Jatim be ready to provide banking support. This support is so that traders are not caught in moneylenders," said Khofifah, as quoted by Antara.

On that occasion, Khofifah checked the construction of the Batu City Main Market located on Dewi Sartika Street, Temas Village, Batu District, which is expected to be completed on May 31, 2023.

Khofifah explained that assistance to market traders is also expected to be included in the creation of a market financial system which will facilitate access for traders who need financing.

"This includes creating a market financial system that makes access easier, and banking prepares for traders who need financing," he said.

He hopes that later the market can be inaugurated directly by President Joko Widodo considering that the market development is a national strategic project proposed by the Mayor of Batu for the 2017-2022 period, Dewanti Rumpoko.

"Because this is a national project, we hope to be inaugurated by the President," he said.

Khofifah also appreciated all aspects and building designs at the Batu City Main Market. He hopes that the market construction can be completed on time by the end of May 2023.

"The Batu City Main Market is extraordinary, if this is used as One-Stop Service for tourists, it is hoped that it can unravel congestion in Batu City," he said.

Meanwhile, Acting (Pj) Mayor of Batu Aries Agung Paewai added that currently the market development process has reached 93.67 percent. The recovery process leaves park and paving work, road compactification and connecting ladder work.

He added that one of the main tasks as the Acting Mayor of Batu is to ensure that the construction of the Batu City Main Market is completed according to the target. He hopes that the market can be completed soon and operational according to the specified time.

"I am grateful that the construction of this main market is running according to the target. Hopefully, what Mrs. Gubenur said will be inaugurated directly by President Joko Widodo," he said.

The Batu City Main Market was built with a three-story concept, namely on the first floor it is a wet area of 14,990.62 square meters and on the second floor is a dry area of 14,143.63 square meters.

Meanwhile, on the third floor, a culinary and office area of 6,032.86 square meters will be prepared. The market, which is built on an area of 34 hectares, also has an environmentally friendly Wastewater Processing Installation (IPAL).
