JAKARTA - PT PLN (Persero) distributed New Electricity Installation Assistance (BPBL) to 3,861 underprivileged households spread across 12 regencies/cities of South Sulawesi Province.

PLN General Manager for South Sulawesi, Southeast Sulawesi and West Sulawesi Distribution Unit (UID Sulselrabar) Moch Andy Adchaminoerdin noted that, until December 2022, the electrification ratio in South Sulawesi was 99.94 per cent.

He also explained that each family receiving the BPBL program received facilities such as installation of house electrical installations of 3 light points and 1 socket, and inspection and testing of the installation of the Certificate of Operation Worthiness (SLO) and filling in the initial electricity token for free. So that once the installation is complete, people can immediately use electricity.

"Thank you for the full support of all stakeholders, this program can be realized", Andy said in an official statement, Friday 3 March.

The Main Director of PLN Darmawan Prasodjo said the BPBL program was a concrete manifestation of the state's presence in realizing equitable energy.

Therefore, PLN will continue to support the government's efforts to increase the electrification ratio (RE) so that all people can access sufficient and reliable electricity, especially in the outermost and most disadvantaged (3T) areas to increase the economy.

"This program is a manifestation of the 5th precept, namely Social Justice for All Indonesian People. PLN is optimistic that the presence of electricity can improve people's lives", said Darmawan.

Meanwhile, a Member of the Indonesia House of Representatives Commission VII, Andi Yuliani Paris, who was present at the inauguration of the BPBL in Bone, appreciated the BPBL program initiated by the Government and channelled properly by PLN to underprivileged communities. According to him, the presence of electricity is very important to improve people's lives.

"This assistance is aimed at underprivileged communities to get a better life. Thanks to all parties involved, this program was realized thanks to the synergy of the Indonesia House of Representatives, the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) and PLN's intervention", said Andi.

On that occasion. Andi also appreciates the transformation of PLN's services, which are now much better.

"With the PLN Mobile application, now PLN is sophisticated and the service is faster. People are welcome to use PLN Mobile if there is a need related to electricity", concluded Andi.
