Improvement Of Information To Pansela Street Needs Funds Rp1 Trillion

JAKARTA - The Ministry of PUPR confirmed that a budget of IDR 1 trillion was needed to improve lighting and road markings on the southern coast of Java (Pansela).

Director General of Highways of the Ministry of PUPR Hedy Rahadian admitted that indeed the Pansela route still has many improvements to be made.

"The issue of street lighting and road markings is that we are with Transportation, Korlantas has identified it. In fact, we have released the need for costs, approximately if we complete everything of around Rp. 1 trillion," he said in a working meeting with Commission V of the DPR, Tuesday, February 15.

"So it's not a cheap fee either, so maybe we will have priority later," continued Hedy.

Hedy explained, how many segments of the Pansela lane also have non-standard geometries. For example, there are inclines and derivatives with quite a steep slope.

"The solution is that we build alternative roads, and we are still reviewing them because the costs are quite large. It's a hilly area," he said.

Previously, the Minister of Transportation Budi Karya Sumadi confirmed that there were points on the Pansela route that were not ready to be used. This is based on the results of his monitoring.

"Pansela is our concern therefore, Kakorlantas and the Director General of Land messages from Banten, West Java to Central Java. The Director General of Land found that there were still pieces that were not good," he said.

Therefore, Budi asked not to recommend Pansela as an alternative route for this year's Eid homecoming.

"And we recommend not parallenging Pansela. So there are indeed pieces that can function perfectly and there are still small ones," he said.
