Minister Of Industry Agus: The Non-Oil And Gas Management Industry Has A Contribution Of 70.67 Percent For Indonesian Exports

Minister of Industry (Menperin) Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita said the Indonesian non-oil and gas processing sector continued to play an important role in national economic growth throughout 2022.

This can be seen from the growth of the non-oil and gas processing sector which reached 5.01 percent in 2022, an increase compared to industrial growth in 2021 which reached 3.67 percent.

"The journey to develop the non-oil and gas processing sector in 2022 is still colored by turmoil and challenges, both domestically and globally. However, thank God we were able to pass it with great pride," said Minister of Industry Agus in a working meeting with Commission VII DPR RI in Jakarta, Tuesday, February 14 yesterday.

From export performance, Agus continued, the achievement of the non-oil and gas processing sector continues to increase despite the uncertainty of global conditions. The export value of the non-oil and gas processing industry in 2022 reached 206.34 billion US dollars or contributed 70.67 percent of the total national exports.

"This figure has exceeded the export achievements of the non-oil and gas processing industry in 2021 which was recorded at 177.20 billion US dollars," he said.

Next, the realization of investment in the non-oil and gas processing sector has exceeded the figure of IDR 457.6 trillion throughout 2022 or contributed up to 37.91 percent of the total national investment. This figure exceeds the investment value of the industrial sector in 2021, which is IDR 307.58 trillion.

According to Minister of Industry Agus, these various positive indicators are in line with the value of the Industrial Trust Index (IKI) in December 2022 which has been released by the Ministry of Industry (Kemenperin). The release results show that the value tends to be stable towards expansion, which is at 50.90. Furthermore, IKI in January 2023 is also still in an increasing expansion phase at the level of 51.54.

"This expansion phase is also in accordance with the results of the Indonesian manufacturing Purchasing Managers Index (PMI), which during 2022 is in an expansion position, and this expansion is also recorded for 17 consecutive months. This is history for the performance of the Indonesian industrial sector," he explained.

In addition, Agus also said that the implementation of the Ministry of Industry's budget throughout 2022 had been realized by 98.13 percent. "The Ministry of Industry's budget absorption exceeds the national average realization which reached 95.60 percent," he added.
