50 Young Engineers Deployed For Earthquake-Resistant House Development In Cianjur

The Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) has again deployed 50 young engineers to provide assistance in the construction of earthquake-resistant houses (RTG) for people in Cianjur Regency, West Java, recently.

"We have dispatched 50 more young engineers to Cianjur Regency to assist the community in the construction of earthquake-resistant houses," said Secretary of the Directorate General of Housing at the Ministry of PUPR M Hidayat in Jakarta, quoted on Wednesday, February 1.

According to Hidayat, as many as 50 young engineers will later serve with others in the field. Thus, it is hoped that there will be a transfer of information regarding field conditions and what needs the community need in developing RTG.

Based on existing data, the 50 young engineers who are already on duty in the field consist of representatives of the Directorate General of Highways (20 people), the Directorate General of Human Settlements, the Directorate General of Water Resources, and the Directorate General of Construction, each 10 people.

Previously, in early January, the Ministry of PUPR had deployed 50 young engineers from the Directorate General of Housing (30 people) and the Directorate General of Human Settlements (20 people).

The young engineers assigned, Hidayat said, were equipped with special attributes, in the form of gray vests and field clothes and hats bearing the words PUPR Sigap Building the Country.

Those who are assigned are expected to be able to carry out their duties and show their service to people whose houses were damaged due to the impact of the earthquake that occurred last November.

"We want the construction of earthquake-resistant houses to run well in the field. Moreover, houses are one of the basic needs of the community that must be met after the earthquake," he said.
