JAKARTA - PT Bank Mandiri Tbk managed to achieve a net profit of IDR 42.2 trillion in 2022.

This figure grew 46.9 percent on an annual basis (year on year/yoy) when compared to the 2021 period.

President Director (Director) of Bank Mandiri Darmawan Junaedi said that this achievement was a reflection of solid performance through a business strategy for potential segments and the company's digital optimization process.

"This result certainly strengthens capital (capital) as the main factor for having the ability to expand business, especially supporting the intermediation function in extending credit," he said in today's presentation, Tuesday, January 31.

According to Darmawan, last year's revenue was supported by the intermediation sector, which rose 14.4 percent to IDR 1,202.2 trillion.

This brilliant credit is supported by the non-performing loan (NPL) ratio which is maintained at the level of 1.88 percent.

"In maintaining asset quality, Bank Mandiri has managed the credit portfolio to anticipate potential declines in quality, including by providing sufficient reserves. As a result, even though NPLs have relatively decreased, the company continues to increase the reserve ratio or NPL coverage ratio to reach 311 percent by the end of 2022," he said.

Meanwhile, credit restructuring affected by the pandemic is said to consistently show a sloping trend in line with the momentum of economic growth. As of the end of December 2022, the total credit restructuring on a bank-only basis at Bank Mandiri was IDR 35.9 trillion.

"As a measure to anticipate a potential decline in credit quality, we continue to maintain the formation of reserves. As of the end of December 2022, Bank Mandiri has recorded CKPN costs on a bank-only basis of IDR 10.3 trillion with an NPL coverage ratio at an adequate level," said Darmawan.

Meanwhile, digitization is getting more mature, the rate of commission-based income or fee-based income (FBI) Livin' by Mandiri and Kopra' by Mandiri is also claimed to have produced positive results.

As of the end of December 2022, non-interest income on a bank-only basis has exceeded IDR 27 trillion.

Of that amount, FBI Livin' and Kopra by Mandiri contributed to growth of 13.1 percent and 10 percent, respectively.
