The Financial Services Authority (OJK) is said to have succeeded in resolving 20 cases in the financial services sector which have been declared complete by the Public Prosecutor (P-21) and have been handed over suspects and evidence (phase 2).

OJK Director of Public Relations Darmansyah said that of the 20 cases, 18 were cases in the banking sector and two were cases in the non-bank financial industry (IKNB) sector.

"So that from 2014 to 2022, OJK investigators have completed a total of 99 cases consisting of 78 banking cases, 5 capital market cases and 16 IKNB cases," he said in a written statement on Wednesday, January 25.

According to Darmansyah, to strengthen the authority of the investigation and to build a credible criminal justice system, the OJK routinely coordinates with law enforcement agencies and officials, namely the National Police, the Attorney General's Office, PPATK and the Deposit Insurance Corporation.

Darmansyah explained, currently OJK has 17 investigators consisting of 12 police investigators and five civil servant investigators.

"During 2022, OJK investigators have also strengthened coordination and communication in the form of education on the prevention of criminal acts in the financial services sector with the Central Sulawesi Police, the East Java Police and the East Java High Prosecutor's Office as well as the Yogyakarta Special Police and the Yogyakarta Special High Prosecutor's Office," he said.

Darmansyah added that the OJK investigation task also received an award as the Best Investigator from the Criminal Investigation Unit of the National Police on November 24, 2022 for the achievements of law enforcement in the financial services sector during 2022.

"OJK is the best institution in resolving cases for the category of Investigators for Civil Servants of Ministries/Institutions," he said.

He also ensured that with these steps to strengthen and enforce the law, OJK was optimistic that financial system stability could be maintained.

"We will continue to anticipate increased external risks and further encourage national economic recovery," Darmansyah concluded.
