JAKARTA – President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) is scheduled to deliver an in-depth official statement regarding the downstream natural resources (SDA) policy and also the development plan for the Nusantara Capital City (IKN) to investors at the Mandiri Investor Forum (MIF) 2023.

The Head of State is also planning to open MIF 2023 directly on February 1, which is said to be attended by 20,000 participants in a hybrid manner with 500 investors from various countries.

This was conveyed by the Director of Treasury & International Banking of Bank Mandiri Panji Irawan in a press conference that took place today. According to Panji, President Jokowi will be the keynote speaker at the 2023 Mandiri Investment Forum.

"There will be directives from the President of the Republic of Indonesia who talks about downstream the next generation, by explaining to the whole world about downstream not only nickel but also tin, nickel to copper, and also palm oil (CPO). Of course, the matter (investment) in infrastructure will also be discussed, with the agenda including the nation's capital", he told journalists, Tuesday, January 24.

VOI noted that MIF 2023 in early February is the first major event this year that brings together various stakeholders, including the government and investors, after a series of Indonesia's G20 agenda which closed at the end of 2022.

Furthermore, Panji explained that on the second day of the event, namely February 2, the Minister of Investment, Head of BKPM Bahlil Lahadalia, and Head of the IKN Authority, Bambang Susantono, will provide a more detailed presentation regarding investment opportunities to investors.

"So we always have concrete things to offer at the Mandiri Investment Forum", he said firmly.

For information, investment activities play a significant role in the Indonesian economy. It is stated that investment plays a role of around 30 percent of consumption which is the main support for national GDP growth.

Meanwhile, downstream is intended to provide added value to natural resources products so that they have more selling value. Just so you know, throughout 2022 Indonesia will benefit enough from trade in natural commodities which will bring windfall profits from the state revenue side. This potential is then continuously optimized by the government for sustainable growth.
