PLN Distributes Electricity To Cianjur Earthquake Survivors Shelters

JAKARTA - PT PLN (Persero) provides temporary connection services at the Cianjur earthquake survivors' Temporary Shelters (Huntara).

General Manager of PLN West Java Main Distribution Unit, Susiana Mutia said, this activity was a form of PLN's active participation in post-earthquake development recovery so that earthquake survivors would quickly get back on their feet.

"So far, PLN UP3 Cianjur has processed requests for temporary connections for 332 temporary posts and shelters," she said in an official statement, Wednesday, January 18.

Susi added, since the earthquake until now, PLN continues to alert personnel and infrastructure to support the acceleration of earthquake recovery.

The Cugenang PLN Alert Post, continued Susi, is also on standby to serve electrical problems experienced by evacuees, such as power outages and electricity security during the cleaning of debris with heavy equipment.

Previously, YBM PLN had provided 25 temporary housing units for earthquake victims in Cibeureum Village, Cugenang District.

The assistance came from infaq and alms funds from PLN employees.

The presence of temporary electricity from PLN was also welcomed by residents of the Cianjur earthquake survivors, one of them Titin. Titin said the presence of PLN electricity in the Huntara was very beneficial for her and her family in their daily activities.

Not only illuminating, but the presence of electricity can also provide consolation. Therefore, Titin expressed her gratitude for the provision of temporary electricity at her place of residence.

Apart from connection, the safety of electricity usage is also a concern for PLN. This is because, when checking, the officers still found the use of cables that were not SNI standard and the use of stacked sockets.

Therefore, PLN provides education on electricity safety to residents door to door to Gasol Village and Tugu Village Shelter, Cigrass, Cugenang District.

The head of RT 003 Kampung Tugu, Suhanda also expressed his gratitude for the electricity education provided by PLN.

According to him, the safe use of electricity is important for their safety.

"This outreach made me and the residents aware of the importance of safety for residents in the midst of evacuation," said Suhanda.
