JAKARTA - The Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) will auction off 30 packages for the Nusantara IKN development project with a value of up to IDR 23.7 trillion this year.

PUPR Minister Basuki Hadimuljono said that the auction was being held to find investors who would be appropriate and willing to work on basic infrastructure.

While the budget is planned to come from the state budget.

"The total value is IDR 23.7 trillion. That's for 30 packages. Not including this year's PPP (Government and Business Entity Cooperation), that's only for the basis of what the State Budget is working on through PUPR," Basuki said at the DPR Building, Jakarta, Tuesday, January 17th.

Meanwhile, last year, the government realized 40 IKN construction contracts with a total of IDR 25.98 trillion.

"Having started infrastructure activities at IKN Nusantara as many as 40 construction activities at a cost of IDR 25.98 trillion, including from the Ministry of PUPR's regular budget in 2022," said Basuki.

He explained that initially the contracts agreed upon until the third week of December were only 24 packages with a value of IDR 15.8 trillion, then at the end of December there were another 16 contracts for construction activities with a total value of IDR 8.89 trillion.

"Several other contracts failed to be auctioned, so they have to be repeated or have to re-auction in 2023," he said.

The contracts that failed at auction were caused by several factors, one of which was the lack of company documents registered.

"Yes, it's normal, not all auction items run smoothly, some have incomplete documents," he said.
