Sambangi Customs Officer Bentoel Malang Factory, What's Wrong?

JAKARTA The Customs and Excise for the East Java region is said to have visited the production facility of PT Bentoel Prima, which is located on Jalan Raya Karanglo, Singosari District, Malang Regency earlier this year.

Head of Sub-Directorate for Public Relations and Customs and Counseling, Hatta Wardhana, said that this action was one of the efforts to carry out functions in the field of trade facilitation and industrial assistance.

"We made a working visit to service users through the customer visit (CVC) program. This activity was carried out as a means of knowing the business conditions of business actors and obstacles that occurred in the field," he said in a press statement quoted on Friday, January 13.

Hatta explained that apart from visiting PT Bentoel, his party also visited PT Merapi Agung Lestari in Bandulan, Sukun District, Malang City with the same goal.

"These two entities include tobacco excisable goods companies (BKC HT) which have the main production results in the form of hand kretek cigarettes (SKT) and machine kretek cigarettes (SKM), so we want to know directly the business processes run by the company," he said.

Hatta added that the Malang and East Java regions are generally one of the areas in Indonesia with high excise revenues.

"We will continue to conduct customer visits (CVC) for monitoring and evaluation of services related to the contribution of state revenues," he stressed.

Meanwhile in Pasuruan, Customs and Excise made a working visit to employers who received tier facilities, namely PT Cheil Jedang Indonesia. Meanwhile, this company won the title as the highest contributor to revenue in the customs sector for the 2022 period.

Regarding this activity, Hatta explained that the two parties discussed technical matters related to customs facilities and continued with a comprehensive discussion regarding the latest issues and solutions to problems.

"We hope that with this activity, service users can provide input to improve the Customs business process in the future, so that it can increase collaboration between various stakeholders," he concluded.
