Officially STARTed, The Construction Of The Pupuk Industrial Estate In Fakfak Is Targeted To Over Five Years

JAKARTA - PT Pupuk Kalimantan Timur (Pupuk Kaltim), as a subsidiary of BUMN Pupuk Indonesia has officially started a development project for the fertilizer industry in Fakfak Regency, West Papua.

President Director of Pupuk Kaltim Rahmad Pribadi, revealed that the fertilizer industrial project in West Papua Fakfak Regency has been designated by the Central Government through the Coordinating Ministry for the Economy as one of the National Strategic Projects (PSN). This was also confirmed by the assignment letter of Pupuk Indonesia, which directly appointed Pupuk Kaltim to immediately realize the construction of the project.

"Pupuk Kaltim is ready to carry out this task as a state mandate that will be realized seriously to support national food sovereignty and the nation's economy," said Rahmad in his statement quoted by Antara, Thursday.

Along with being designated as PSN, the Fakfak fertilizer industry project is fully supported by the central government, because it has a very large positive impact on the nation's development and economy.

The realization of the project was encouraged to be carried out immediately so that the regional development mission was also carried out. Pupuk Kaltim ensures to carry out the factory construction stage optimally.

In line with the company's 45-year journey, Pupuk Kaltim has established itself as the largest fertilizer company in Southeast Asia that will continue to grow, through various developments and downstreaming by taking advantage of existing opportunities.

The industrial estate development project in Fakfak is one of the developments in the second phase of company growth, which is targeted to be realized in the next five years.

"The development of the fertilizer industry area in Fakfak is a gold program in welcoming the 50th anniversary of Pupuk Kaltim. God willing, at the 50th anniversary, urea's first pocket in this industrial area can be realized," said Rahmad.
