Indonesia Raup Rp360 Trillion Per Year From The Prohibition Of Nickel Exports

JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo revealed that Indonesia has managed to earn IDR 360 trillion per year from the nickel export ban that has been implemented since 3 years ago.

Jokowi explained that before nickel exports had not been banned, Indonesia only earned IDR 17 trillion per year.

"In the past, when we were still exporting the value was only Rp. 17 trillion per year. After we stopped this 3 years, a year we made Rp. 360 trillion," he said, quoted on Wednesday, January 11.

Jokowi added that this year the government will also stop the export of bauxite in June 2023. He believes that with the termination of the export of bauxite, Indonesia will produce IDR 60 to 70 trillion per year from the previous IDR 20 trillion per year.

Moreover, he continued, if the electric vehicle ecosystem had been developed in Indonesia. "Everything must be integrated so that we hope that later this can become an ecosystem for electric vehicles that in the future will provide a bright future because all state markets need this electric car," Jokowi continued.

He also admitted that this was not easy because Indonesia had to integrate all mineral mines spread throughout Indonesia.

"Indeed, this is a job that is not easy to integrate because of copper mines from Papiua, in Sumbawa, nickel mines in Sulawesi, North Maluku and Maluku, tin mines in Babel, bauxite mines are in West Kalimantan and Bintan," Jokowi explained.
