PT PLN (Persero) managed to secure electricity supply during the Nusantara Islamic Traditional Festival which was held at the Diponegoro Banyuwangi Stadium.
The event, which was held to welcome a century of Nahdlatul Ulama (NU), was attended by thousands of students who mingled with the community from various circles. In particular, the President of the Republic of Indonesia, Joko Widodo, Rais 'Aam the Executive Board of NU, KH Miftachul Akhyar, General Chairperson of the NU Executive Board, KH Yahya Cholil Staquf, Habib Syech bin Abdul Qodir Assegaf, ranks of the Minister of the Advanced Indonesia Cabinet, NU clerical figures, and East Java Governor Khofifah Indar Parawansa.
PLN President Director Darmawan Prasodjo said PLN was ready to support national and international scale activities with reliable electricity.
"We are always ready to be at the forefront of reliable electricity supply at various events. This time, PLN is also participating in supporting events as well as encouraging the preservation of the nation's culture. Alhamdulillah, during the day the Nusantara Islamic Traditional Festival takes place, electricity supply is safe without blackouts throughout Banyuwangi," said Darmawan.
Darmawan explained, specifically at the PLN event location, 78 personnel were deployed to be on standby. In addition to personnel, PLN has also prepared Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) with a capacity of 250 kiloVolt amperes (kVA), UPS 3 x 100 kVA, ATS and Mobile Substation Unit (UGB) 3 X 250 kVA. This UPS functions to store power so that when the electricity goes out suddenly, the electricity at the location remains on.
According to Darmawan, reliable electricity supply is PLN's commitment to support not only the event, but also for the economic movement of the community. Because with the reliable electricity supply, the event will be successfully implemented and can improve the economy through Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) and tourist visits.
"With this event, people can be happy, then there are many multiplier effects because this event has become full, the economy of the surrounding community is also moving," said Darmawan.
