Ministry Of Manpower: Wage System In Indonesia Doesn't Know The Term No Work, No Pay

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Manpower said that the wage system in the country does not recognize the term no work, no pay or not work, is not paid.

The Director General of Industrial Relations and Employment Social Security (PHI-Jamsos) of the Ministry of Manpower, Indah Anggoro Putri, said that the no work system, this no pay, was a suggestion from a businessman.

"There is no term no work, no pay. Many ask no work, no pay, nothing. This country does not recognize the term no work, no pay," he said at a press conference, Friday, January 6.

Indah said, if you experience financial difficulties, the company can hold a bipatrit dialogue with its employees.

"Even if there is a policy of flexibility of working hours and wages, it must be based on a bipartite agreement between employers and workers," he said.

Furthermore, Indah said the results of the joint agreement must be written down and recorded at the local Manpower Service (Disnaker).

"And it must be written down the agreement. Then it is recorded to the labor offices. So we don't know the term no work, no pay," he said.
