PT PLN (Persero) is holding a convoy of electric motors in Yogyakarta to support the clean energy transition program to achieve the net zero emission target by 2060 launched by the government.

PLN President Director Darmawan Prasodjo said this step was also to help the government suppress imports of fuel oil (BBM) and switch to using domestically based energy.

"We see that this electric motor is a fever that has become a new lifestyle. With this we can shift from import energy to domestic. Earlier, during our trip there was no pollution at all, greenhouse gas emissions also decreased drastically. So, this electric motor is cool," said Darmawan, quoted Thursday, December 29.

Darmawan said the convoy, which was attended by 32 electric motors, covered a distance of 23 kilometers from Caturtunggal Village, Depok District, Sleman Regency, to Selopamioro Village, Imogiri District, Bantul Regency.

The trip was taken in about 30 minutes.

Not only using a manufacturer's electric motor, he continued, this convoy also uses 11 electric motors converted from fuel motorcycles supplied from the PLN of the Electricity Maintenance Center (Pusharlis) and the EVthink Bengkel located in Berastagi, Karo Regency, North Sumatra.

"The motorbike is mixed, there are 21 electric motor manufacturers and there are 11 electric motorcycles created by the nation's children. So I drive the construction of my own nation's children," he explained.

From the convoy, Darmawan also considered that electric motorcycles were comfortable and safe for people to travel.

Moreover, currently PLN has also provided public electric vehicle charging stations (SPKLU) and public electric vehicle battery exchange stations (SPBKLU) to make it easier for people to charge.

"The convoy is very fun. The electric motorcycle runs very smooth and gets here comfortably," concluded Darmawan.
