JAKARTA - The Directorate General of Customs and Excise (DJBC) of the Ministry of Finance ensures that the need for excise stamps in 2023 will be met at the beginning of the year, especially the tobacco excise stamp (CHT).

This assurance was obtained after the Director General of Customs and Excise Askolani and his staff held a working visit to the Money Printing Corporation of the Republic of Indonesia (Perri) in Karawang, West Java, Thursday, December 22.

"The provisions are clear, the preparation of raw materials for the production of excise stamps for excise goods from tobacco products (BKC HT) in 2023 has also been completed. Currently, the consortium is just waiting for the process of asking for printing from Customs and Excise," said Director of Communication and Guidance for Customs and Excise Services Users, Nirwala Dwi Heryanto, quoted from Antara.

Nirwala explained that the visit was maximized by Customs and Excise to ensure the consortium providing excise stamps (Perri) related to readiness to print excise stamps in 2023, and the consortium has also guaranteed the availability of excise stamps in 2023 in early January 2023.

He also hopes that the 2023 excise tape will be available in the first week of January next year.

"We are committed to immediately providing excise stamps in warehouses of service offices, so that starting January 1, 2023, factory/importer entrepreneurs can take excise stamps on tobacco products in 2023," said Nirwala.

As is known, the government has issued new provisions regarding excise tariffs on tobacco products through Minister of Finance Regulation (PMK) Number 191/PMK.010/2022 and Number 192/PMK.010/2022.

In addition, Customs and Excise also issued Perdirjen Number 16/BC/2022 concerning Procedures for Determination of Excise Tariffs on Tobacco Products in the Form of Cigarettes, Cigarettes in leaves or Klobots, and Tobacco Iris, as well as Perdirjen Number 17/BC/2022 concerning Procedures for Determination of Excise Tariffs on Tobacco Products in the Form of Electric Cigarettes and Other Tobacco Processing Products.

"So the Customs and Excise service office throughout Indonesia that oversees factory/importer entrepreneurs will re-establish excise rates on all registered cigarette brands and still apply to the Customs administration," said Nirwala.

Although the decree on the re-determination of excise rates has been effective since January 1, 2023, he emphasized that the application process for the provision of excise stamps for years can be carried out shortly after the re-determination process has been successfully carried out through the ExSis Application.
