Achieve the "Informative" Predicate in the 2022 KIP Award, the Ministry of Industry will Efforts to Submission More Modern Information

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Industry (Kemenperin) has just received an award at the 2022 Public Information Disclosure Award which was held by the Central Information Commission (KIP). At that event, the Ministry of Industry received an "informative" predicate with a value of 98.51.

The predicate was given for the results of KIP monitoring and evaluation which was carried out from August to November 2022 against 372 public bodies.

KIP itself is an independent institution to oversee and ensure the realization of information disclosure by public bodies.

"This award is an encouragement for the Ministry of Industry to continue to provide the best service to the community through more informative governance in accordance with the mandate of the constitution and law. Through this award, of course, we will continue to strive to convey information more modernly so that it is easily accessible and easily understood by the public," said the Inspector General of the Ministry of Industry, Masrokhan Sulaiman, in Jakarta, Thursday, December 15.

Masrokhan said the Ministry of Industry achieved the "information" predicate for its efforts to implement and fulfill the mandate of Law No. 14 of 2008 concerning Public Information Disclosure and the Obligation of Public Agency to provide access to information to the wider community (KIP Law).

"Of course, the achievement of the classification of "Informative" public bodies shows the increasingly optimal performance of the Ministry of Industry in an effort to carry out the mandate of the Public Information Disclosure Law," he said.

Masrokhan said, the award will be the second time for the Ministry of Industry. Because, in 2020, the Ministry of Industry has also received a similar award.

"We have also received a similar award in 2020 and we will continue to strive to maintain this achievement for the years to come," he added.

On the same occasion, Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs (Menkopolhukam), Mahfud MD said, the fulfillment of information rights for the public is one of the important elements of human rights.

According to him, to provide guarantees and protection for every citizen, information is needed that legal instruments are more operational, namely by law.

"We should be grateful that Indonesia already has Law No. 14 of 2008. Through the KIP Law, basically not only regulates the issue of guarantees and protection of human rights for everyone to obtain information, but how governance of government administration is carried out in a transparent, effective and efficient manner, and can be accounted for," he explained.

Mahfud also appreciated all public bodies that received the "informative" title in the 2022 Public Information Disclosure Award event.

He also appealed to public bodies that have not received the title to evaluate and improve the implementation of public information disclosure in their respective public bodies.

"I congratulate the public body for showing its ability to carry out and fulfill the mandate of the KIP Law, so as to obtain the Public Information Disclosure Award as an informative public body," he said.

Previously, in 2012, the Ministry of Industry managed to get ranked as the 1st best public entity and ranked as the second best public body in 2017. Then, from 2018 to 2022, KIP changed the category to informative, towards informative, quite informative, less informative and informative.

During that period, the Ministry of Industry twice got informative ratings and was ranked three times towards informative.
