This Is The Development Of Battery-Based Electric Motor Vehicle Infrastructure In Indonesia Until November 2022

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) noted that the number of battery-based electric motorized vehicles (KBLBB) until November 2022 had reached 33,810 vehicles. Secretary General of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources Rida Mulyana said this number was still dominated by motorcycles.

"Meanwhile, the supporting infrastructure in the form of charging stations currently stands at 439 units and there are 961 battery swaps," said Rida when speaking at Bisnis Indonesia Business Challenge 2023, Thursday, December 15.

Regarding the conversion of motorized vehicles to electricity, Rida continued, the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources has tested the conversion of fuel motors into electric motors to obtain certification from the Ministry of Transportation of 127 units.

"A total of 22 of them have received documents in the form of STNK from the Korlantas Polri,:" added Rida.

Rida added that the benefits obtained from this conversion of vehicles are saving the purchase of fuel oil (BBM) of IDR 2.68 million per month. As for the country itself, by converting fuel to electric motors, it can save fuel up to 355 liters per year per converted vehicle," he explained.

Meanwhile, subsidized savings is estimated at IDR 532,500 per year.

"Because it is no longer using fuel, there is also an estimated reduction in CO2 emissions of around 0.67 tons per year and because it is converted to electricity, there is an increase in conversion by 426 kwh per year," added Rida.

He further explained that the ii program is one of the government's cranes in suppressing fuel imports.

Not only by boosting the use of electric vehicles, continued Rida, the government has also and will implement strategies on the supply and demand sides, including carrying out conversion of Diesel Power Plants (PLTD) both with gas and New Renewable Energy (EBT).

"With EBT, we have surveyed a total of 5200 PLTD spread across 2130 locations throughout the archipelago. We have also continued to carry out the B30 biodiesel program since 2020. So far, the realization has reached 9.5-9.6 million KL," he concluded.

As for the end of 2023, the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources plans to increase the use of B30 to B35 with an allocation target of 13.2 million KL.
