Pertamina Boss Returns To List 100 Women Influenced In The World

JAKARTA - President Director of PT Pertamina (Persero) Nicke Widyawati is again on the list of 100 world-effective women (The Worlds 100 Most Powerful Women) Forbes for 2022.

Nicke has previously been on Fortune and Forbes' list of international-scale influential women in 2020 and 2021.

Nicke is one of two Indonesian women who are included in this list. She is ranked 49th and the Minister of Finance of the Republic of Indonesia, Sri Mulyani is ranked 47th.

The top position is held by the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen.

Forbes explained that the list was determined by four main metrics, namely revenue, media, impact, and scope of influence.

"For political leaders, we weigh gross domestic product and population; for company leaders, income and number of employees; and the media mention and reach all. The result is a collection of women who fight the status quo," wrote Forbes.

Because Pertamina is a state-owned company, Nicke as the President Director of women is considered capable of leading companies that support the Indonesian government's decision. Forbes also mentioned that Pertamina is the largest gas importer in Asia.

President Director of PT Pertamina (Persero) Nicke Widyawati assessed that this recognition could not be separated from the support of all management and workers.

"I am grateful and grateful for the good judgment and recognition of the international community. This is the result of Pertamina's collaboration with all stakeholders, and will be a motivation to be better in the future," Nicke told the media, Thursday, December 8.

In addition, when Indonesia hosted the G20 Presidency, Nicke served as Chair of B20 Energy, Sustainability & Climate Task Force.

Apart from Nicke Widyawati, other names from the energy sector include Catherine MacGregor from French energy company Egie, Sinead Gorman who is CFO Shell, and Lynn Good from the United States energy company Duke Energy.
