Capture Opportunities For The Shipping Sector, Samudera Indonesia And Pelni Handling Business Synergy

JAKARTA PT Samudera Indonesia Tbk and PT Pelayaran Nasional Indonesia (Pelni) have agreed to synergize in working on various opportunities for the national transportation business.

President Director of Samudera Indonesia Bani Maulana Mulia said, the two entities have a lot in common, especially having long experience as a shipping company in Indonesia.

"But we also have differences, which if synergized will be a strength to grow together," he said in a written statement quoted on Sunday, December 4.

According to Maulana, his party is a national private shipping company that has expertise in logistics cargo with domestic and international service coverage. Meanwhile, Pelni is the leading state-owned shipping company in the field of passenger transportation and has a wide network in all corners of the archipelago.

The synergy between Samudera and Pelni will capture market opportunities that are still growing in Indonesia. In addition, the combination of expertise between the two companies can produce better product innovations and transportation solutions for the Indonesian maritime industry," he said.

Similarly, Pelni President Director Tri Andayani stated that the opportunity for cooperation is very profitable in line with the core business of the two that can complement each other.

"Of course, the spirit of collaboration will be able to open up more profitable business opportunities for both parties, as well as provide more benefits for logistics service users," he stressed.
