Join Commitment And Strong Leadership For Energy Transition, PLN Rai Green Initiative Awards 2022

PT PLN (Persero) won the Green Initiative Awards for the company's concrete actions in running a green economy and supporting the energy transition in the country on Thursday, December 1.

In his remarks, Presidential Chief of Staff Moeldoko said the government gave high appreciation to companies that are committed to boosting the green economy.

Moeldoko hopes that the award achieved can be an encouragement and inspire other companies to encourage a green economy.

"It is hoped that it will have a significant impact on economic growth in Indonesia and increase the competitiveness of human resources in the digital sector. These two keywords are really needed for us in the midst of extraordinary global competitiveness," said Moeldoko in a written statement, Friday, December 2.

Co Founder and CEO of Katadata Metta Dharmasaputra added that this award was given because PLN has a high leadership in energy transition.

PLN is considered one of the companies that leads the energy transition in Indonesia because of the achievement of increasing the new and renewable energy mix.

"So PLN is one of the companies that we value has a very high leadership in the energy transition. Because this is a theme in the G20 Summit that we have just passed successfully in Bali," said Metta.

In the G20 Indonesia Summit, Metta said, PLN is also at the forefront of accelerating the formation of ecosystems from electric vehicles and has a program to increase the clean energy mix.

"I think we have all seen how PLN made an extraordinary breakthrough at the G20, for example by making a pilot project of the Floating PLTS, which at that time was a show case for Indonesia, which was shown to the world," said Metta.

Therefore, Metta considered this award as appreciation and appreciation to PLN.

This award is also expected to spur other companies to follow in the footsteps of PLN.

"I think PLN as an electricity company has a big vision and coincidentally, Mr. President Director Darmawan Prasodjo is an expert, an expert in the field of sustainability, so of course we really appreciate and want to give appreciation to PLN," said Metta.

PLN President Director Darmawan Prasodjo said he was proud of the appreciation and appreciation given.

Darmawan hopes that this appreciation can be an inspiration for other parties to be more concerned about the development of sustainable green energy.

"We are doing this struggle not because there is an international agreement or not just because of a policy, we do it because we really care for a better future," concluded Darmawan.

In supporting the energy transition process, PLN carried out various initiatives.

For example, PLN has made a roadmap to switch to green energy according to the greenest Electric Power Supply Business Plan (RUPTL) in history. Namely with a target of 51.6 percent additional EBT-based power plants or around 20.9 GW until 2030.

In addition, PLN also encourages the electric motor vehicle ecosystem in Indonesia. This support is carried out by providing infrastructure for Public Electric Vehicle Charging Stations (SPKLU) spread throughout Indonesia.
