JAKARTA - PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (BBRI) on a consolidated basis which recorded a net profit of IDR 39.31 trillion in the third quarter of 2022, an increase of 106.14 percent compared to the same period in the previous year.

Sunarso explained, in the midst of world economic conditions that are full of challenges, BRI is able to maintain positive financial performance fundamentals, while still focusing on core business in the MSME segment, quality of assets maintained with prudent, and adequate liquidity.

From the aspect of lending, he continued, until the end of September 2022, BRI Group's total credit and financing was recorded at IDR 1,111.48 trillion or grew 7.92 percent yoy. In particular, BRI's MSME credit portfolio recorded an increase of 9.83 percent yoy from IDR 852.12 trillion at the end of September 2021 to IDR 935.86 trillion at the end of September 2022.

"This makes the proportion of MSME loans compared to BRI's total credit continue to increase, to 84.20 percent," continued Sunarso.

Sunarso detailed that the BRI micro segment credit portfolio grew 14.12 percent yoy, the consumer segment grew 7.55 percent yoy, the small and medium segment grew 2.89 percent yoy, and the corporate segment contracted 1.24 percent yoy. This is in line with BRI's efforts to continue to increase the portion of MSME loans to 85 percent.

"BRI's active role by empowering and encouraging MSMEs to continue to grow will open and provide jobs for the community, considering that 97 percent of employment opportunities in Indonesia come from the MSME segment," said Sunarso.

Sunarso added that BRI's NPL ratio was recorded at the level of 3.09 percent and BRI's NPL Coverage was recorded at 278.79 percent, where this figure increased compared to NPL Coverage at the end of the third quarter of last year which was 252.86 percent.
