Pursuit Potential Business, Erick Thohir Asks Indonesian Posts To Build From Sleep

JAKARTA - Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) Erick Thohir said that PT Pos Indonesia has extraordinary potential. However, Erick said to target the potential of the existing business, PT Pos had to wake up from his sleep.

"I always say, PT Pos has extraordinary potential, it just has to get up from sleep, like many other SOEs that were previously asleep," he said at one Indonesian Festival, at the Bloc Post, Central Jakarta, Thursday, November 10.

Erick also mentioned the transformation of SOEs, especially Pos Indonesia related to the company's assets, namely Pos Bloc. He said, the transformation that began 2 years ago has now produced good results.

For your information, Pos Bloc is an asset belonging to Pos Indonesia that is beautified in such a way as to become a forum for MSME actors. So that it can attract young people to develop their creativity in this place.

"I also thank the ranks of PT Pos, who were assigned 2 years ago, maybe most of them feel this is a place of exile, even though they are not," he said.

On that occasion, Erick also appreciated Pos Indonesia's steps to lead to the provision of platform-based logistics services.

"I believe that this is used as a platform and logistics base where Pos has strength and can synergize with earlier, this private sector and Small Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) are scary (potential power)," he said.

Furthermore, Erick Thohir also mentioned the potential of the digital economy in the future. Erick said, Indonesia's digital economy potential will reach IDR 4,500 trillion in 2030.

Erick assessed that the time was not long. Only about 8 years to reach the peak of the potential of the digital economy in the country. With that figure, Indonesia will have the largest digital economy value in Southeast Asia.

"But this is just data, if you are sleeping (sleeping) you are just sleeping, this is just passing by, that's why I challenge SOEs to rise from sleep, including PT Pos Indonesia," he said.
