JAKARTA - The government through the Minister of Finance (Menkeu) Sri Mulyani is said to have succeeded in garnering support from the Organization of Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) to be able to make the priority agenda of the G20 Presidency a success.

This emerged after the Minister of Finance held a bilateral meeting with the Secretary General (Sekjen) of OECD Mathias Cormann some time ago.

"This meeting discussed an inclusive framework for the Carbon Mitigation Approach (IFCMA) in the context of exchanging multilateral information to achieve zero net emissions, as well as OECD support for Indonesia on the G20 priority agenda and post-pandemic economic recovery," he said on the official website, Thursday, October 20.

According to the Minister of Finance, Indonesia is the first major partner of OECD to sign the 2012-2017 Framework Cooperation Agreement (FCA) on September 27, 2012.

"So many cooperation programs have been implemented together with OECD and of course many benefits have also been obtained, especially for the Indonesian government," he said.

Therefore, the treasurer hopes that Indonesia and OECD can continue to collaborate well and even be closer in the future.

"Of course we all hope that the discussion of the carbon mitigation approach so that OECD support for Indonesia to achieve post-pandemic recovery can be a separate solution in the midst of current global challenges," he stressed.

For information, this year's G20 Indonesia Presidency carries three main agenda focuses, namely the global health architecture, digital economic transformation, and a sustainable energy transition.

The G20 forum is used as an event to discuss and coordinate macro policies within the global scope.

The G20 Forum is believed to play a strategic role in encouraging strong, sustainable, balanced and inclusive global economic development.
