Frozen tuna weighing 40.2 tons was shipped to the United States with an economic value of IDR 9.18 billion. Meanwhile, Dried fish was sent to Japan weighing 24.3 kilograms with a value of IDR 3,223,000.

"The two fishery products were sent in one shipment and his party issued two fish health certificates," he said.

His party ensures that the quality of fish caught in the waters of West Sumatra is free from dangerous diseases before being exported to various countries. In addition to physically checking the freshness of the caught fish, the characteristics of the fish meat are still chewy and the eyes of the fish are still bright.

SKIPM Padang also takes fish samples to be examined in the laboratory and all laboratory facilities owned have been accredited by the National Accreditation Board to ensure that the quality of the fish that will be consumed by the public or exported is guaranteed.

"We will ensure that these fish are free from formalin, histamine, heavy metals and in accordance with the request of the destination country. If they are free, they will be given a certificate stating that the fish are clean from disease and fit for export," he said.
